Justice DY Chandrachud, son of 16th Chief Justice of India YV Chandrachud, takes oath as 50th Chief Justice of India after suceeding UU Lalit. His tenure will end on November 10, 2024. He served as Additional Solicitor in 1998 followed by his appointment of Bombay High Court Judge in 2000. After which, he became Chief Justice of Allahabad High Court in 2013 and served till 2016, when he was appointed as judge of Supreme Court.
