Kamalpreet Kaur secured a place in women's discuss throw final with a throw of 64m. She secured her place in the finals after a slow start of 60.29m but pulled out a monster throw of 64m in her third attempt. Apart from Kamalpreet, another Indian in the discuss throw event, Seema Punia failed to book her place in the finals as her best throw in three attempts was 60.57m. Kamalpreet Kaur will now perform in the Women's discuss throw on the 2nd of August 4:30pm.
She has a very good chance of proving herself as she is the first Indian woman to breach the 65m barrier in discuss throw. This comes after she overcame frustration & depression at the end of last year due to no competitions because of Covid-19.
