Kang Daniel Wins First Trial Against Malicious YouTuber; Agency Plans Civil Lawsuit Seeking 100 Million Won
On September 11, Kang Daniel's agency, ARA, announced their victory in the first trial of a criminal lawsuit filed against YouTuber "Sojang," who has been involved in spreading malicious content. The agency revealed that despite this victory, they plan to further pursue legal action by filing a civil lawsuit for 100 million won (approximately $74,644) against the YouTuber.
In their official statement, ARA shared the following: “We have successfully won the first trial against the YouTuber ‘Sojang’ in the criminal lawsuit. This individual has caused significant harm by spreading false and defamatory content regarding our artist, Kang Daniel. Despite the severity of their actions, the defendant has not shown any remorse.”
The agency made it clear that they are prepared for the possibility of the YouTuber appealing the criminal court’s decision. However, ARA remains steadfast in their decision to move forward with a civil lawsuit, regardless of any appeals. The statement continued: “Regardless of whether the shameless defendant decides to appeal [in the criminal lawsuit], we will proceed with a civil lawsuit seeking 100 million won, separate from the criminal proceedings.”
ARA emphasized their determination to hold the YouTuber accountable for their actions: “We will take all necessary legal steps to ensure that justice is served. We also want to make it clear that we will continue to protect our artist’s rights and will not tolerate any form of malicious activity directed toward Kang Daniel.”
The agency closed the statement by expressing their gratitude to fans who have stood by Kang Daniel throughout this difficult period. They reassured the public that they will continue to take strong legal action to safeguard their artist from further harm.
