I might sound like an old school, but when I was 11 gears old, usually at that age children have an automatic attraction towards the shinny stuff like getting dressed, birthday parties, the television and smart phone etc but at this juncture of life, what I fell is that one will have ample amount of time for all of those joyful silver linning moments, it's no point focusing on what movies are coming in the theaters, what my friends are posting on Instagram, who is going on a vacation or planning a trip with their friends, the teenage is not the time to think about these. Under 30 is the prime time to shape your life and plan and work on how you wish and foresee it to be in the future because one is left with a long journey after that, because once this time is left behind one is left with guilt and feel like "thoda aur efforts daal dete to better hota".
So I feel primarily, parents should themselves first understand why their kids need to join the swimming class or a badminton session or any other physical activity for that matter, once the answer of that "why" is clear to the guardian they will be able to present a picture in front of the children why it is extremely important to be involved in extracurriculars along with studies and the importance of efforts until the age of 30. I believe this is how parents can play a pivotal role in the upbringing of a child since that's exactly how my parents had brought me up, both being busy had always made me feel how invested they were in my life and if I did not give in my best I would feel guilty for all their hardwork going to a waste.
