This was a straight challange from Guru Teg Bahadur to Aurangzeb. So to force Guru Teg Bahadur to convert to Islam he tortured him but failed and in frustration killed him at Chandni Chowk Delhi, where now in his memory there stands a Gurudwara Sis Ganj Sahib.
Baba Jiwan Singh ,(later also known as Rangreta Guru ka Beta) or Bhai Jaita (1649–1704) ,born in Patna Sahib, was a Majhabi Sikh General companion and friend of Guru Gobind Singhji, the tenth Sikh Guru . He was a poet and a warrior. He also taught gatka, shabad kirtan, archery, horse riding, and swimming to Sahibzada Ajit Singh, son of Guru Gobind Singh.
At the time when Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji took the charge of Sikhism, Bhai Jaita Ji was very young. After the request for help by Kashmiri Pandits, Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji went to Delhi with Bhai Mati Das Ji, Bhai Sati Das Ji, Bhai Dayal Ji, Bhai Gurdata Ji and another Sikh. At this time, Bhai Jaita was sent to Delhi to receive news about Bhai Gurdata and Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib. In Delhi, the Mughals martyred Guru Tegh Bahadur along with all the Sikhs.
At that time, Baba Jiwan Singh recovered his dismembered body from a Muslim crowd. After the fateful incident, Bhai Lakkhi Shah Vanjara took the body of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji and cremated it by burning his own house. At this place Gurdwara Rakab Ganj is adorned in Delhi today.
After this incident, Bhai Jaita carried the head of Guruji wrapped in a cloth and at a great risk managed to reach Anandpur Sahib and presented himself to the young Guru Gobind Singhji.
