Krishnav Chopraa at tied 12th at AAC golf.
Krishnav Nikhil Chopraa, son of former cricketer Nikhil Chopra, opened with a steady 2-under 68, placing him tied 12th at the Asia-Pacific Amateur Championships. He trails the leader, Indonesia’s Randy Bintang (65), by three shots. Among other Indians, Vedant Sirohi shot 69 to be tied 16th, while Kartik Singh's roller-coaster 71 left him tied 31st. Debutant Rakshit Dahiya struggled with a 75, tying him for 69th.
Chopraa, a college golfer at Long Island, US, handled tough winds well, recording four birdies against two bogeys. He said his back nine was stronger, with birdies on the third and sixth holes. Sirohi, from Webber International University, also had a solid round, finishing 1-under despite bogeys.
The 14-year-old Kartik Singh, who last year became the youngest to make the cut at the AAC, faced challenges with bunkers, finishing bogey-bogey after recovering from an early double bogey. Despite the tough conditions, Kartik remains determined to bounce back in the next round.
