La Masia has done it again
From Ansu Fati to Gavi to Lamine Yamal, and now Marc Guiu: La Masia's pipeline just never seems to end.
Few would've predicted the end result as Barcelona struggled to break down a resilient Athletic on Sunday. But up steps 17-year-old Marc Guiu, to score in the 80th minute and become the youngest Barcelona debut goalscorer in the 21st century.
Two touches. Less than 30 seconds after coming on, Guiu ran in behind the resolute Athletic backline and slotted it past Spain No. 1 Unai Simon.
At 6'2", his build is unnatural to the eye when you think of a typical La Masia product. Yet, his goal has put Barcelona back to just one point off the top of La Liga.
It feels like yesterday when Ansu Fati had burst onto the scene. Ansu is still only 20, out on loan, and a striker more than three years his younger is now the darling of the city.
