Dr Jasbir Singh Bajaj was a physician and dialecologist . He made an outanding.
contribution to medical sciences, research and the healthcare delivery system in the country. He specialized in endocrinology at Karolinska Institute, Stockholm, Sweden conferred him Doctorate in Medicine at its 175th-anniversary celebration in 1985. He was a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of London and Edinburgh and the National Academy of Medical Sciences. He was also a Founder Fellow of the Indian College of Physicians .
HIS Contribution to Healthcare Landscape in India ;
As Member (Health) of the Planning Commission, and Head of Medicine at All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi, he contributed handsomely to streamline healthcare delivery in the country. While serving on the Executive Board of the World Federation for Medical Education, he participated in developing policy initiatives and implementation of strategies to enhance the quality and relevance of medical education at regional, national, and international levels.

* Served as Professor and HOD of Medicine at AIMS (1979 - 1996).
* Serves as Physician to the President of India from 1977 to 1982 & from 1987 to 1992.
* He initiated and implemented the Rehbar-e-Schat health care delivery model in
Jammu and Kashmir.
* He steered major initiatives for the reorientation of medical and paraprofessional education and facilitated the development of health-related vocational courses in secondary education.
