Late Dr S. K. Burman Founder, Dabur.
He was a physician from Bengal who founded Dabur in 1884. He started selling his natural medicines commercially. His vision was good health. He believed in the philosophy, "What is that life worth which cannot bring comfort to others." Now Dabur's Ayurvedic Specialities Division has over 260 medicines for treating many ailments and body conditions, from the common cold to chronic paralysis. Dabur International (he is no more) an owned subsidiary of Dabur India.

His ground-breaking contribution to Indian healthcare is the establishment of Dabur India Ltd. an Indian multinational consumer goods company headquartered in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh. It manufactures Ayurvedic medicines and natural consumer products. It is one of the largest fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) companies in India.

Dr S. K. Burman set up Dabur to produce and dispense Ayurvedic medicines to reach out to the maximum number of people in the country who had no access to proper
treatment.
Dabur's Journey via Healthcare in India
*Dr S. K. Burman founded Dabur with the mission to make health care products in
Calcutta in 1884. * He set up a manufacturing plant with the growing popularity of Dabur products for mass production of formulations in 1896. Dabur entered the specialised area of nature-based Ayurvedic medicines, for which
standardised drugs were not available in the market in 1900.
Established research laboratories to develop scientific processes and quality checks for mass production of traditional Ayurvedic medicines in 1919.
Dabur expanded further with new manufacturing units at Narendrapur and Daburgram in 1920.
* Dabur became a full-fledged company - Dabur India (Dr S. K. Burman) Pvt Ltd., in 1936.
* Dabur's operations shifted to Delhi and a new manufacturing plant was set up in temporary premises in Faridabad on the outskirts of Delhi in 1970.
Impact
Dr S. K. Burman aka Daburman kept the flag of Ayurveda aloft and fluttered in modern times even in the face of advancement of allopathy. Dabur stands towering as the faithful keeper of millions of patients who use its various products transcending borders.
