Ramanbhai B.Patel was a chemist who , along with school friend Indravadan A Modi , Founded a pharmaceutical company , Cadila Laboratories Ltd in 1952 . Cadila is listed on both the BSE and the NSE and is amongst India's most respected companies. With a firm belief that new avenues would surely emerge if one has the will to discover them, he dedicated his life to the quest for knowledge as an academician, entrepreneur and researcher.
HIS Contribution to Healthcare Landscape in India ;
Cadila Laboratories produced and marketed Isopar, a formulation of the tuberculosis drugs Isoniazid and Para-amino salicylic acid, in 1957, and Neurexin-12, a single-vial mixture of vitamin B1, vitamin B6, and vitamin B12, in 1959. In 1973, the firm developed process technology to make the anti-diabetic drug Glibenclamide. And in 1977, launched Dexona-20, a concentrated form of the anti-inflammatory drug dexamethasone. These are low-priced drugs that are widely available to the people of the country.
