I am pretty sure that drawing moustache/earrings/hairs on newspapers, textbooks was or probably still is the most widely practised art across India, let alone Dadaist art! Especially when we are on call with pen and newspaper in hand, it comes so naturally, so you don't have to feel bad admitting it 😂😂
Originated in early 20th century.
Purely a reaction towards WW1.
Rejected the logic, reason and of modern capitalist society, instead expressing nonsense, irrationality and anti-bourgeois protest.
Dadaist artists expressed their hatred toward violence, war, and nationalism, and maintained political affinities with radical left-wing and far-left politics.
Usually works on ready-made art or scriptures.
Major Dadaist includes:
Marcel Duchamp
Tristan Tzara
Salvador Dali
Dadaist art is often characterized by irrationality, humor, and silliness. Marcel Duchamp painted a mustache on a postcard of Leonardo da Vinci's Mona Lisa as a depiction of his irreverence for established artistic traditions as well as expressing his own sense of humor.
So what is your Dadaist art ? Mine was drawing moustaches in text book😛 ( as a reaction against boring classes🤣 kidding ofcourse)
