I wonder what's historic here.

-- There are only two countries in the world with a population of over 500 mn: China and India. Even with two doses, no other country will ever hit the 100 crore vaccines mark.

-- China crossed 1 billion vaccinations back in June. Without any fanfare.

-- India had set a target of 2 billion doses by December. We are just halfway there with two months to go.

The only thing historic in this pandemic has been the number of deaths in India during the second wave, which was the highest since the Partition.
