The former Indian volleyball captain and wife of legendary athlete Milkha Singh, Nirmal Milkha Singh, loses the battle to COVID. She passed away after a valiant battle against COVID at 4pm today (June 13, 2021). She was 85.
She had represented the Indian women’s volleyball team in an international tournament held in Sri Lanka, then Ceylon.
She retired as a director from Chandigarh Sports Department.
"The Milkha family lost its backbone today. Mom taught us to be humble and be good human beings above everything else," tweeted Jeev Milkha Singh. "We can never thank her enough for everything she did for us and the unconditional love she showered…every day."
