Though it has rained in Delhi, but it has become extremely humid. This week Delhi is expected to witness isolated rain even today with a likelihood of thunderstorms and gusty winds blowing at speeds of 25 to 35 kmph, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) said.
However, the rain is unlikely to give much respite from the hot humid temperature in the national capital. The maximum and minimum temperatures are expected to remain at 40 and 31 degrees respectively.
Delhi's maximum temperature on Monday was 40.4 degrees Celsius to degrees above normal, while the minimum temperature was 31.6 degrees, four degrees above normal. Humidity levels ranged from 73 to 45 percent.
Jafarpur recorded the highest temperature at 41.1 degrees.
Light rain is predicted to continue throughout the week, leading to an expected drop in temperatures from Wednesday onwards. The maximum temperature is expected to decrease to 36 degrees and the minimum to 28 degrees.
