Lionel Messi: "I don't think I'll make it to the next World Cup"

Lionel Messi has spoken in an interview with Miguel Granados, host and comedian, for the programme “Soñé que volaba” which is broadcasted on YouTube.

Messi provided more certainty about his future with the Argentina national team and his possible presence at the 2026 World Cup. “I don’t know if I’ll make it to the next World Cup. I’m not thinking about it yet because it’s a long way off,” he said.

"My objective is to play in the Copa America… that’s what I’m thinking about, then I’ll see if I’ll play at the World Cup. It depends on how I feel. The years have gone by. We’ll have to see how I feel. There are still three years to go.”
