Drink for love, you must have heard that but have you ever heard about 'Drink of Love'? Whenever I go to Matia Mahal , having a glass of Mohabbat ka Sharbat is always on my to-do list.
There are multiple Sarabat stalls in the narrow lane selling the most famous 'Mohabbat ka Sharbat', I was confused which one to go to but then there was one with an old board where it was written "Pyar Mohabbat Sharbat".
There I met Nawab Quereshi, he was a very funny and an animated man, he told me that everyone in the lane will claim that they're the first one to start the Sharbat (drink), but look at my board it's old, and look at other's board they're shining as if they have been put yesterday.
Nawab is a native from UP and he came to Delhi 25 years back when the love of his life broke his heart and that's how Mohabbat ka sharbat came into existence.
I got curious why anyone would make a Love Drink if his heart got broken. Nawab said he's still in love with that woman, and she'll always be the woman he loves. As his heart is filled with so much Love, so he wanted to spread that love among everyone by refreshing their lives with this Sharbat, especially during the days the heat is scorching in Delhi.
There is something magical about the Sharbat, truly it's filled with love, when Nawab started selling this sharbat 25 years back he used to sell it for 2-3₹ per glass, now he sells it for Rupee 15 and 30.
Freshly cut Watermelons are added into the milk and it is the key ingredient of the Sharbat, and the best part is that he uses and tetra pack to make it, so one can be assured about the quality. Along with watermelon and milk, Roohafsa and ice are also poured into the sharbat which adds a cooling effect into it.
Mohabbat ka Sharbat is worth all the hype, and is absolutely a must have for everyone, which will make sure to fill all your senses with love.
