Luis Enrique: "Kylian Mbappe" is the Best Player in the World

Speaking after Paris Saint-Germain’s 2-0 UEFA Champions League victory over Borussia Dortmund on Tuesday, manager Luis Enrique said that he believes that Kylian Mbappé (24) is the best player in the world.

Mbappé scored a penalty during Tuesday’s victory at the Parc des Princes. It is the 16th-consecutive game in which the France captain has either scored or assisted – the best run of his career, whilst he has also been involved in 30 goals in his last 23 Champions League matches.

His manager has now heaped on the praise. “For me, Kylian is the best player in the world. But above his technical qualities, what has struck me is his human quality. It is a pleasure to see him in the dressing room. He is a leader, and he always has a smile,” said Luis Enrique in a post-match press conference. Mbappé is one of the favourites to win the Ballon d’Or later this year, an individual prize that has so far eluded him.
