Macron Backs India’s Bid to Host 2036 Olympics

French President Emmanuel Macron has expressed confidence in India's capability to host the 2036 Olympics, following the successful Paris Olympics. During a media interaction with Gaurav Kalra of Jio Cinema, Macron praised India's potential and organizational capacity but warned of fierce competition from Turkey, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and Indonesia.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi declared India's ambition to host the 2036 Olympics in his Independence Day address, echoing sentiments previously voiced by IOC member Nita Ambani. Ahmedabad is currently considered a leading candidate for the potential host city.
