On the eve of Easter Sunday, Arsenal had the chance to resurrect their position at the top and slay their past Anfield demons, once and for all. But the Reds from Merseyside had the last say in an enthralling encounter that has blown the title race wide open. The defending champions, Manchester City, who've been on the tails of Arsenal all season, now smell blood as the Gunner's title charge hit a roadblock.

Arsenal' s leading goal-scorer, Martinelli gave the Gunners the perfect start with an early goal and also set up his strike partner Jesus as Arsenal threatened to blow Liverpool away and march towards the title. Like their season, It semmed to be another horrendous night for the Kopites before Salah halved the deficit at the stroke of half-time, and gave Liverpool a shimmer of hope.

As poor as the Kopites has been this season, Liverpool have just lost one game at Anfield this season. And reminiscent of the second half against United, the Kopites had Arsenal by the throat for the entirety of the second half. Ramsdale produced one of his finest performances and kept Arsenal alive in the tie. Salah again missed another crucial spot kick,  as the Kop watched in agony, their team miss chance after chance.

It seemed like the league leaders, Arsenal, would edge it over the line until an incident involving Xhaka and Arnold riled up the Anfield crowd, and the Gunners felt the full wrath of it. Outgoing Bobby Firmino had the last laugh as he leaped over the Arsenal backline to meet Trent's cross and give Liverpool a much-deserved point.

Given the state of affairs, the clash between City and Arsenal could be the title decider, and the Gunners could rue the two dropped points today. Manchester City, who are no strangers to a title hunt, now have a sniff at the throne. If City win all of their remaining fixtures, the title will head to Manchester, irrespective of Arenal's results. So the clash at the Etihad will be monumental as a slip-up for Arsenal could seriously dent their hopes of winning their first title in 18 years.
