Carlos de Oliveira, the property manager of former President Donald Trump's Mar-a-Lago estate, has pleaded not guilty to obstruction-related offenses tied to allegations of Trump's unlawful retention of documents after leaving office. The charges include retaining classified material at Trump's Florida resort. De Oliveira, aged 56, appeared at his arraignment accompanied by his attorney. He opted for a trial by jury and waived the formal reading of the charges. Trump and an aide, Walt Nauta, had previously pleaded not guilty in the case. De Oliveira was added as a co-defendant in a superseding indictment, accused of attempting to delete security footage sought by the Justice Department and lying to FBI agents about handling classified documents. He has worked at Mar-a-Lago for over 20 years, becoming the property manager in January 2022. Despite his association with Mar-a-Lago, sources indicate he was not part of Trump's inner circle.
