The MCC Dragons clinched a nail-biting victory over the MCC Knights by four wickets in the MCC MCL 10 T-20 League at the MCC Ground, Margao, on Thursday under lights. Chasing a challenging target of 173, the Dragons reached 176/6 in 19.1 overs to secure the win with just five balls to spare.

Batting first, the MCC Knights posted 172/9 in their 20 overs. Despite early setbacks, Pranav Biche dazzled with a quick-fire 38 off just 20 balls, including two boundaries at a strike rate of 190.00. Pawan Rane added 36 off 24 balls, providing much-needed momentum. However, the Dragons’ disciplined bowling kept the Knights in check, with Kapil Angle, Vaibhav Naik, Om Fadte, Ankush Patil, Sudesh Rane, and Mrunmay Das taking one wicket each.

In response, the Dragons started strong, with Bakshi (35 off 24) and Om Fadte (38 off 22) setting a solid foundation. Vaibhav Naik anchored the middle order with a steady 40 off 31 balls, ensuring the team stayed on track despite losing wickets at crucial junctures. Rohit Mehta was the pick of the bowlers for the Knights, claiming 2 wickets.

The all-round brilliance of Om Fadte earned him the Man of the Match award as the Dragons pulled off an exhilarating victory to keep their MCL campaign alive.
