Chef Vartan Abgaryan, known for his culinary skills at various renowned restaurants in Los Angeles such as 71Above, Tommy's, and Cliff's Edge, has resurfaced in the city's food scene, this time in an unexpected location. Abgaryan is now cooking up delicious Mediterranean dishes at Momed, a low-key restaurant in Atwater Village. Despite the restaurant's relatively hidden location, Abgaryan says he is excited to refine the original vision of the restaurant's owner, Alex Sarkissian, with his honest and heartfelt approach to cooking.
Momed's menu has been revamped with new dishes, including a barbecued octopus skewer, truffled duck liver terrine, and wild mushroom manti served in a skillet, all cooked to perfection using the wood-fired oven. According to Sarkissian, Chef Vartan is a gifted chef who can redefine modern Mediterranean cuisine and set a new standard for contemporary Mediterranean cooking in Los Angeles. Momed is now a must-visit dining destination along the LA River, with many new and long-standing restaurants combining to make it a culinary hotspot.
