Mellow, an over-competitive character in Death Note. Mellow, or Mihael Keehl was competitor to Near, or Nate River. As L couldn't choose his successor due to his sudden death, it was Mellow who was being more impulsive as to who was chosen to take Lawliet's place after his death. But his impulsive and competitiveness couldn't hide the fact that he was indeed intelligent enough to be able to work alone. Even in the last episode of Death Note, Near himself accepts the fact that he could have never confirmed his suspicions for Light being Kira if it were not for Mellow's sacrifice. I think he is such an underrated character in the series. There's more to his character than just eating chocolate and should have had more development even though his fate was death by Death Note eventually.
