Memento is written and directed by Christopher Nolan. It is a neo-noir psychological thriller. Guy Pearce stars in the movie as Leonard Shelby. The movie revolves around him, he is an insurance investigator and suffers from anterograde amnesia (short-term memory loss). He uses tattoos and notes to hunt for the man he thinks killed his wife. It is the last thing he remembers, the killer of his wife. The conflict in the movie is about memory and guilt.
The movie alternates in two different sequences, one black and white and the other than colour. The black and white sequence moves chronologically while the other moves in reverse, they meet together at the climax.
Leonard was attacked in his home by two attackers and they killed his wife. Leonard manages to kill one but the other gets away. The police don't agree with Leonard that their were two attackers. He believes that the attacker's name is "John G" or "James G".
Leonard starts to investigate the matter and to overcome his memory loss he uses notes, Polaroid photos, and tattoos. He remembers a case he handled as a insurance investigater, Sammy, he couldn't learn things even from repetition but Leonard thought that the issue was psychological and turned down the claim. Sammy's wife told to him to administer her insulin thoughts. She hoped he would remember and stop but he couldn't and ends up overdosing her, she dies from this. Leonard follows Jimmy by finding him through an undercover cop Teddy. Teddy claims he knows Leonard as he had labelled him in a polaroid. Leonard finally manages to kill Jimmy in an abandoned building. Leonard finally manages to kill Jimmy in an abandoned building. When he kills Jimmy , he whispers Sammy to Leonard. Teddy tells Leonard that Sammy's story is actually Leonard's. To repress this guilt he has for the death of his wife.
He kills Teddy and labels Teddy as Jimmy.
