Mercedes-Benz belonging to the former king of Afghanistan won the top prize of a car exhibition in America
The "Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance" exhibition announced that the Mercedes-Benz owned by Mohammad Zahir, the former Shah of Afghanistan, won this year's top prize of this vintage car exhibition.
This Benz car was produced in 1937, which Zahershah ordered in the same year.
In its statement published on Sunday , this exhibition wrote about this that there are only three examples of this "540K Special Roadstar" model car left in the world.
The exclusive car magazine "Karascopes" wrote in a report that this car reached the hands of the former king of Afghanistan in September 1937, and then he gave this car to his son-in-law in Britain in 1950.
According to this report, in 1953, an American collector bought the Mercedes-Benz of Mohammad Zahir Shah, and after that, it has been bought and sold five times.
This car was bought last year for 9.9 million by an American collector named Jim Patterson and introduced to the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance exhibition.
The head of the exhibition said that the Mercedes-Benz of the former Shah of Afghanistan, with its broad lines and style, "balances power" and its history is unique.
Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance is an exhibition of old cars, especially from the pre-World War era, which has been held every year in August in California, America, since 1950.
Mohammad Zahershah was the king of Afghanistan between 1316 and 1352.
