Lionel Messi has issued a war cry ahead of the FIFA World Cup final between Argentina and France on Sunday and said that he is ready for the big game.
Messi is set to play in his second World Cup final on Sunday after having failed to lift the trophy in 2014 against Germany. The 35-year-old has hinted that this could be the last time we see him at the big tournament and the whole Argentinian squad has made it their mission to give him a proper send off.
The 35-year-old goes into the match as the joint top-scorer in the tournament alongside Kylian Mbappe with five goals to his name.
Messi has already spoken about the final and said that he is hoping that Argentina can win the trophy on Sunday against France.
"We have won five finals and I hope this is the case for the final on Sunday. We lost in the first match due to fine details but it helped us to be stronger," said Messi.
Now Messi has put up a post on Instagram where he has said that he is ready for the big showdown against France and issued a war cry to the Argentinian fans.
While Messi is all set for the final, France captain Hugo Lloris has said that the game on Sunday isn't just about the 35-year-old star. Speaking to the reporters ahead of the final, Lloris said that the event is too important to focus on just one player and the contest will be between two great nations.
"The event is too important to focus on one player. It's a final between two great nations," said Lloris.
"When you face this kind of player (Messi), you have to pay attention to him, but this game is not just about him."
