Messi Will Play a Farewell Game With Barcelona! ~ Deco

Barcelona's sporting director Deco blew the lid on the club's plans with Lionel Messi. Deco claimed that Barcelona will probably host a farewell game for Lionel Messi once their new stadium is ready to bid farewell to the club's greatest player.

Talking to the media, Deco said, "I think there will be a farewell game, but maybe in the new stadium when it’s ready. Messi will always be the greatest idol in the club’s history. The club had great idols, like Cruyff, and Ronaldo, but he is perhaps the greatest of all."

The Barcelona sporting director added, "Messi will definitely play a farewell match at Barcelona, but when it will be, we don’t know. He is playing at the moment and hopefully, he will play for more years, because people who love football, those who do, will be happy to see him happy."

Barcelona expect their new stadium to be ready by November 2024. Hence it has to be seen if Messi will return for his farewell game at that time as the Blaugrana would also be looking to do a grand reopening for their iconic stadium.
