Lozano will join expansion side San Diego as a Designated Player in January, as reported by ESPN. The Mexico star will remain with PSV for the rest of the year before jetting out to the United States ahead of the team's MLS debut in February 2025. Lozano will earn a salary of between $7-$9 million (£5-7m), making him one of the highest-paid players in MLS.
Lozano moves after helping PSV win the Eredivisie title for the first time since 2018. The Mexican scored six goals and contributed three assists in 24 league games for the team, and San Diego will be hoping he can make an impact in the States. The expansion team have signed just three players so far in Duran Ferree, Jeppe Tverskov and Marcus Ingvartsen. San Diego are also yet to name a head coach for their MLS debut season.
Lozano has not been included in Mexico's squad for the Copa America. The PSV star missed out along with fellow veterans Guillermo Ochoa and Raul Jimenez.
