Milwaukee won the Western Conference in 1971 and 1974 and captured its only championship 50 years ago.
With this victory, The Milwaukee Bucks are heading to the NBA Finals after holding on for a 118-107 win over the Atlanta Hawks at State Farm Arena in Game 6 of the Eastern Conference finals on Saturday night.

Khris Middleton and Jrue Holiday put the Bucks on their backs and combined for 59 points to carry Milwaukee to the championship’s biggest stage against the Phoenix Suns.

The team had lost in the conference finals to Philadelphia in 1983 and 2001 and Boston in 1984 and 1986, with only the 2001 team having a real chance to advance to the final round. Now, the Bucks and Suns will square off in the NBA Finals with Game 1 scheduled for Tuesday night in Phoenix.
