Why social media only has to designate with violence?

Funny thing we're ranting about social media in social media. What an irony.

Also that's the power social media posses. And misinformation and rumour were part of human existence.

Humans always have loved to gossip and share stories, and you must have played the Chinese whisper game, how from one person to another the message often got distorted by being passed around in a whisper, that's how misinformation is spread, and we can't blame social media for that.

How can we not see how social media and technology has helped people to communicate and connect, and also helped businesses to flourish with generation of revenue.

The World is full of good and bad people, which path to choose and whom to believe isn't a very individual choice?

Then why people just incite violence or spread hate through social media?

It's a choice one made, and what to avoid and where not to indulge yourself, should be a choice you should make for your betterment, rather than just blaming social media.
