Not drying the hair 100% before starting - Make sure your hair is 101% dried-Avoid sizzling / steaming sound . It may burn your hair .
Not removing tangles / knots - Tangle your hair before straightening . Using heat on tangles may damage your hair and can cause split ends / breakage .
Starting the process just after applying Heat Protectant / Serum - Let the heat protectant / serum be absorbed in your hair and brush it- Otherwise your product will not spread properly and if it is still damp , can make sizzling sound .
Setting the temperature > too high , thinking it will straighten your hair faster - Don't set the temperature high thinking it will straighten your hair faster- 130-170 is perfect for fine hair , 170-180 for normal hair , 200 for thick / coarse hair .
Not dividing your hair into parts and working on smaller sections - Although larger sections seem easy to work on, it may expose your hair in contact with straightener with too much heat and the hair in between will not be straightened .
