Moong dal oats chilla is a very healthy combination to include protein and fibre in one’s diet. It can be served as breakfast or evening tea time snack. Moong dal oats chilla is best accompanied with spicy chutney/ sauce.
Ingredients;
- Moong Dal - 1 cup ( yellow)
- Urad Dal - 1/4 cup
- Oats - 1/4 cup
- Green chilli - 1
- Ginger small piece
- Beetroot - 1/2 cup grated
- Cabbage - 1/2 cup grated
- Salt to taste
- Turmeric powder - 1/4 teaspoon
- Chilli powder - 1/4 teaspoon
- Coriander leaves - 2 tablespoons chopped
- Oil - 1/4 cup for roasting
- Water - 1/4 to 1/2 cup for grinding dal
Instructions ;
1 Soak moong dal and urad dal in water for 2 hours.
2 In a mixer, add the soaked dal, green chili, ginger and oats.
3 Grind them adding water as required to make a semi liquid paste.
4 Transfer the paste to a bowl, add salt, turmeric powder and chili powder. Set aside.
5 In a mixing bowl, add grated beetroot, cabbage, and coriander leaves. Add salt and mix it.
6 Spread the moong dal paste on non-stick tawa like dosa. Sprinkle the mixture of cabbage on it.
7 Roast the pancake on both sides adding oil as required.
8 Tasty moong dal oats chilla is ready to be served with ketchup/ pudina chutney.
