Mumbai Indians blew Punjab Kings out of the game in the first 10 overs of the latter's innings after scoring 192/7 batting first.

PBKS lost their top five in the first 10 overs with Jasprit Bumrah and Gerald Coetzee taking four inside their first two overs itself. Shashank Singh then started a fightback from Punjab after which a combination of Ashutosh Sharma's brilliance and some bizarre tactics from MI helped Punjab Kings roar back into the chase despite being seven down.

Ashutosh, however, fell on 61 off 28 and it came down to PBKS needing 12 to win off the last over with one wicket in hand. A run out off the second ball of the last over ended the contest and MI won by nine overs.

Suryakumar Yadav earlier scored 78 off 53 balls as Mumbai Indians scored 192/7 in 20 overs batting first. SKY shared an 81-run stand with Rohit Sharma for the second wicket which came in just 57 balls. Then came a 49-run partnership with Tilak Varma off 28 balls. Rohit fell on 36 off 25 while Tilak stayed unbeaten on 34 off 18. Sam Curran was captain Punjab Kings in the absence of Shikhar Dhawan.
