Coloring is no longer just for children, but is a pleasant and enjoyable past time for adults as well! To honour the enjoyment and peace that colouring can provide, National Coloring Day was established.
In order to give kids access to art education even when they weren't really creating the drawings, the first colouring books were created in the 1880s. It all began with the McLoughlin Brothers, a business that later merged with the Milton Bradley Company, which is still in the game-making business today.
When colouring books reached their pinnacle in popularity, new activities like computer or smartphone apps that mimic the sensation of colouring were also developed.
However, nothing compares to the experience of using a real colouring book, crayons, and coloured pencils.
The occasion of National Coloring Book Day is ideal for taking advantage of coloring's aesthetic, entertaining, and therapeutic effects.
