Celebrate National Women Physicians Day on February 3 to highlight the progress made by female physicians since 1849.

The first woman to earn a medical degree in the US, Dr. Elizabeth Blackwell, was born on this day in 1849. The campaign that aided women's admission and equality in the medical profession was started by Dr. Blackwell.

The day also aims to enhance working conditions for the increasing number of female physicians who are entering the

medical industry.

The achievements of numerous generations of female physicians are celebrated on National Women Physicians Day.
