NCERT (National Council of Educational Research and Training) has removed Periodic Table, Democracy, Sources of energy and Environmental Sustainability from Class 10 syllabus.

The mention of Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, who fought for India’s independence from Britain and was India’s first education minister, has been removed from the class 11 textbook.

But why? The reason cited for the same is "syllabus rationalization" which is meant to reduce burden on students.
