Every year, Netflix releases a slate of new movies to pique the interest of customers and persuade those who haven't yet joined with the service that they should. While this year appears to be an exciting one for Netflix, a new teaser for all of the platform's planned features also suggests that the platform will be slowing down in 2023.
Luther: The Fallen Sun
Idris Elba stars as disgraced detective John Luther in the film about a serial killer on the loose in London. The movie also stars Cynthia Erivo, Andy Serkis, and Dermot Crowley and debuts on March 10th.
The Mother
Jennifer Lopez stars as a former assassin who decides to come out of hiding in order to find and protect her daughter. The movie also stars Joseph Fiennes, Omari Hardwick, Gael García Bernal, Paul Raci, and Lucy Paez. In The Mother premieres on May 12th.
Extraction 2
Extraction is the follow-up to the Russo Brothers' AGBO production. Chris Hemsworth returns as Australian black ops mercenary Tyler Rake. The film also stars Golshifteh Farahani, Adam Bessa, Daniel Bernhardt, and Tinatin Dalakishvili. Debuts on june 16th.
They Cloned Tyrone
Though Netflix originally made it seem as if director Juel Taylor's 'They Cloned Tyrone' was premiering last year, it's now slated to launch this July. The movie also stars Kiefer Sutherland and J. Alphonse Nicholson.
Damsel
Millie Bobby Brown stars as a young damsel in Juan Carlos Fresnadillo's Damsel. The movie also stars Angela Bassett, Robin Wright, Ray Winstone, Nick Robinson, Brooke Carter, and Shohreh Aghdashloo. Damsel premieres on October 13th.
Rebel moon
The movie stars Sofia Boutella, Djimon Hounsou, Ed Skrein, Michiel Huisman, Bae Doona, Ray Fisher, Charlie Hunnam, Anthony Hopkins, Corey Stoll, and Jena Malone. A young woman named Kora steps up to build an army of her own to defend the colonies on the outer edge of the galaxy home.
Leave the World Behind
Tells the story of two families vacationing on Long Island whose fun is cut short by a massive blackout. The movie stars Julia Roberts, Mahershala Ali, Ethan Hawke, Myha'la Herrold, Farrah Mackenzie, Charlie Evans, and Kevin Bacon. The film debuts on December 8th.
