Nikki Haley is the last woman standing to stop the chaos that Donald Trump brings always with him.

She might lose South Carolina where she has been a governor as the Republican establishment foolishly stands behind Trump and a MAGA base that is not ready to budge but Haley has decided to go down fighting. If she loses South Carolina primary, which every opinion poll is saying, will she be able to withstand the Republican party’s pressure to stand down and not drag the nomination contest to Super Bowl day?

We don’t know yet but Haley has sharpened her attacks on Trump in recent weeks painting him as grumpy old man who throws temper tantrums at the drop of hat. Many of her supporters believe Haley should have attacked Trump more but she is mindful of not losing some of the elements she might be able to chip away from Trump’s corner if she moderately attacked the former president.

Haley is best chance is to drag the contest as long as possible as Trump’s judicial problems continue to pan out and his MAGA base realises he can’t win against Joe Biden in November. Trump hasn’t been tested fully so far in the Republican nomination contest but Haley is testing him now and Trump is already getting irritated with her so it seems her plan is working.
