In the Indian Institutional Framework Ranking (IIRF) 2022, the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Srinagar came in first place among all NITs and IITs in Jammu and Kashmir, and ranked 59th overall India. The rankings for all NITs and IITs were published by Education Post, a monthly magazine on higher education. NIT Srinagar secured the top rating in Jammu & Kashmir and 59th out of 3500 engineering government institutes in India according to the report.
Prof. Rakesh Sehgal, the director of NIT Srinagar, commended the teachers, students, and non-teaching staff for earning a high ranking in the IIRF rankings and making the institute's administration proud.
