Scanty periods, medically termed as hypomenorrhea, refer to menstrual periods with unusually light bleeding. Women experiencing scanty periods often have less bleeding than what is normal for them, or the bleeding might last fewer days than usual. This can vary from woman to woman, as the amount of blood lost during a normal period can range significantly.
Is it normal?
Having it once or twice may not be a concern but if it happens repeatedly, it may be a sign of an underlying condition!
It can be due to;
+ Sudden weight loss
+ Having birth control pills
+ Stress
+ Low progesterone levels
+ PCOS
Remember - If you are experiencing scanty periods, please speak to a doctor about it!
