Now this is just crazy. Several people were arrested in Switzerland after an American woman with the help of a few Swiss citizens involuntarily committed suicide by using a suicide booth. The 64-year-old now deceased woman was apparently suffering from all sorts of ailments.
Assisted suicide has been a hot topic of discussion for a long time. While in many respects it's a well-intentioned, the outcome is never good in practice. Look no further than Canada for example. People who cannot afford medical care are literally offered to kill themselves instead.
In fact, a recent poll showed that one-third of Canadians believe that it is acceptable to prescribe assisted suicide for people if they're homeless, regardless of whether or not they're suffering from any ailments.
Call assisted suicide what you want. Call it humane. Call it whatever. But the fact is, that normalizing suicide only makes it easier for people to do it.
