Amid extreme climate in India, the north part of the country is boiling. There has been severe heatwave with temperature touching 50 degrees, and now all eyes on the monsoon.
The gradual advancement of the monsoon is eagerly anticipated, as it will help mitigate the current heatwave conditions and improve weather conditions across the affected regions.
Conditions are expected to become favorable for the onset of the monsoon over Kerala within the next five days, India Meteorological Department said in its latest update about monsoon. Additionally, conditions are likely to support the further advance of the Southwest Monsoon into more parts of the South Arabian Sea, the remaining regions of the Maldives and the Comorin area, parts of the Lakshadweep area, Kerala, more areas of the Southwest and Central Bay of Bengal, the Northeast Bay of Bengal, and parts of the Northeastern states during this period, the IMD said.
Delhi is likely to see a maximum temperature of 46 degrees today with mainly clear sky. Heat wave to severe heat wave with strong surface winds is likely in the national capital region, the IMD said. The weather department has also issued a red alert for the national capital region.
