After jumping and pumping his hands with his team on Sunday to celebrate winning his record-tying 22nd Grand Slam title and his 10th Australian Open triumph, Novak Djokovic slumped onto his back and sobbed.
As per news reports, Djokovic walked back onto the field and slumped down on his sideline bench, burying his face in a white towel and crying once more.
This trip to Australia was much more successful than the one he took a year prior, when he was deported because he was not immunised against COVID-19.
However, it was still challenging in its own right due to a bad hamstring and some family-related off-court drama.
However, Djokovic achieved everything he could have hoped for upon his return!
At Melbourne Park, he started winning again and returned to the top of the tennis world, saying, "This possibly is the, I would say, biggest victory of my life."
