Obsessed with the Royals? Already watched all the television series and documentaries based on the monarchy and royalties and don’t know what else to find? I have got you covered. Here are two books that will ease your royal-obsessed itch. These books are fit for a King, Queen and a Teen.
The Heir and The Spare by Emily Albright : A ‘spare is english slang for whoever is second in line for the throne, and that’s exactly Evie falls for upon first arriving at Oxford University. Life in the royal spotlight with Prince Edmund is dreamy yet had its fair share of headaches; from his family’s expectations to an unpleasant competition with the snobby aristocrat who thinks she's more deserving of the prince’s affections. The Heir and The Spare gets really intriguing when a secret about Evie’s past surfaces.
Red, White & Royal Blue by Casey McQuiston : First off, It is one of those books you would like to escape into; I sure wanted to. Red, White & Royal Blue is set in an alternate reality where in 2016, a Democrat from Texas became the first female president of the United States. President Ellen Claremont is also the mother of Alex Claremont-Diaz: a 20-something mixed race modern-day Kennedy who begins questioning his sexuality. The story kicks off after Alex accidentally ruins a royal wedding [ this scene in the book is so classic you’ll die laughing] and is forced to make-nice with his childhood nemesis, Prince Henry of Wales. Alex and Henry pretend they’re best friends for the press and, in a classic rom-com twist, their fake bromance turns into a full-blown “secret romance.” I am in love with this book and not even lying here, I read it every time I’m in a funk or simply depressed.
