On Shri Krishna Janmashtami, Shiva's city Kashi will be colored in the color of Kanha. The joy of Janmotsav will be celebrated in Shri Kashi Vishwanath Dham and Laddu Gopal will be born in the courtyard of Kashipuradhipati. This will be the first time when Janmotsav is being organized in a grand manner in Baba's Dham.A ceremony of Abhishek and Janam Anushthan of Shri Laddu Gopal will be organized in the temple square of the Kashi Vishwanath Dham. Janam Utsav will start at 11 pm and will continue uninterrupted till midnight. After Janam Utsav, Abhishek Prasad, Charanamrit and Prasad will be distributed to the devotees.On August 27, Laddu Gopal will participate in Baba Vishwanath's Mangala Aarti. Devotees who come to attend the Mangala Aarti will get the blessings of seeing Lord Vishwanath as well as Laddu Gopal. The three-day celebration of Janmashtami in the city will begin with a procession on Sunday.
