It's an auspicious day in cricketing history, as the God of Cricket Sachin Tendulkar, when he was little Mater Tendulkar, he dominated the cricketing world with his class batting and outstanding talent.

And his journey has been of breaking and making records after records, and it all from this day.

Today, Sachin Tendulkar became the youngest player to reach to 1000 run mark in Test cricket. He was 19 years and 216 days old when he achieved this milestone against South Africa in the second match of the four-match series in 1992 at Johannesburg. Sachin scored 111 runs off 270 balls to become the youngest batter to hit a century against South Africa.

Notably, the ‘God of Cricket’ had also become Yorkshire County Cricket Club’s first overseas batter before becoming the youngest batsman to reach 1000 Test runs.

In the match, South Africa scored 292 runs in their first innings with the help of Jonty Rhodes’ 91 and Brain McMilan’s 98 runs knocks.

For India, the captain of that time Kapil Dev took one wicket and Manoj Prabhakar bagged four wickets. Anil Kumble and Javagal Srinath picked up two scalps each.

Team India had a poor start in their first innings as their top order went back to the pavilion, leaving India with a scorecard of 44/3. Then, young and talented batter Sachin took responsibility for his little sounders and played a stunning knock of 111 runs. He guided his team to a total of 227, trailing by just 65 runs.

South Africa gave a total of 317 after scoring 252 in the second innings. While India managed to draw the match in fifth.
