The off shore gate of UNESCO World Heritage shrine in Japan's western prefecture of Hiroshima has been restored to its former glory after three and a half years repair.
The Otorii Gate measuring 16 meters tall and 24 meters wide stand in the sea, near the main hall of Itsukushima Shrine in the city of Hatsukaichi.
The shrine is so strong that not even large earthquake can destroy it.
On 18th December 2022, about 30 people including people from the shrine, gathered to celebrate its reopening.
