Pickled vegetables is the best side!! Looks Fab
Can’t take credit there , it’s husband made
So we went all continental today .
There was no office and no school and hadn’t cooked anything interesting for children in a long time . So decided to do a full on treat . Since I can’t eat much outside, the meal was gluten free. This one even the kids enjoyed.
Chicken steak, white sauce pasta and mash potatoes 🥔.
Chicken steak is easiest to make- u can even season it with salt and it will come out perfect. I put a little ginger garlic paste, some crushed black pepper and oregano. Grill it exactly for three minutes . So that it doesn’t get chewy .
White sauce pasta - the difference was the penne. It was rice pasta so that my gluten allergy doesn’t work up. It has to be cooked a little more - 13 minutes by the clock. Keep stirring as it has more starch . Put a little salt and few drops of oil. Drain . White sauce is simple. A little flour, butter, milk and cheese , I kept the flour to just half table spoon and went for the ready made Alfredo cheese sauce instead. A bit of pasta mix and ur fine. Once the cheesy sauce is bubbling toss in the pasta. Cook for a few more minutes- it’s gluten free.
Mash potatoes- boil potatoes , little milk and cheese. Oregano again. Mash and done .
I added a few husband made pickled vegetables- kids skipped .
And our lunch is done. I am so full . Need green tea or may be a freshly made lemon mint mojito.
