On Republic Day, every year Padma Awards are given to citizens, which is one of the highest civilian awards in the country.

The awards are given in various disciplines. This year the President has approved conferment of 128 Padma Awards. And our Golden Boy, Neeraj Chopra has won a Padma Shri in the field of Sports.

Padma Shri is given for distinguished service in any field, and Chopra has been exemplary throughout the year. He truly did deserve this award.
