Wow, that’s really powerful. Thanks for sharing this!
The hill tribe known as Pahari Korwa is one of the most vulnerable tribes in India. The people of this tribe live in Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, and also in Mirzapur district of UP.
The Main Bhi Bharat team met the people of this tribe in Korba district of Chhattisgarh state of India, and were able to spend some time with them. During our interactions with them, we met many children who had been abandoned by their parents, and were being raised by their grandparents.
We also met some young women, hardly 14-15 years of age (some even younger), but married or living-in with their partners. Among these girls, few had already become mothers. The tribe is an example of how the perceived progressive nature of their society hides the bitter truth about its young, malnourished mothers, and children who are abandoned without any concern for their welfare.
